Dr. Majed Al Zayer is an Assistant Professor in the Information & Computer Science Department at KFUPM. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, where his research focused on the design and evaluation of interaction techniques in Virtual Reality. Dr. Al Zayer also holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).

Before joining KFUPM, Dr. Al Zayer worked at Meta as a User Experience Researcher from 2019 to 2024, where he contributed to the Facebook app and more recently to Meta’s upcoming Augmented Reality and wearable products. Before his tenure at Meta, he served as a Petroleum Engineering Systems Analyst at Aramco between 2007 and 2015.

Dr. Al Zayer’s research specializes in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, focusing on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and wearables. He also has research interests in Accessibility.
