Saeed Anwar is an Assistant Professor of Information and Computer Science (ICS) at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), KSA. He has experience as a Research Scientist with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) Australia, a Lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU), a Visiting fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and an Assistant Professor at the University of Canberra, Australia. He has also worked with National ICT Australia (NICTA), Pal Robotics and Toshiba Medical Visualization System Europe (TMVSE).
He received his Ph.D. from the Australian National University & National ICT Australia and obtained a master's degree in Erasmus Mundus Vision and Robotics (Vibot), jointly offered by the Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom, the University of Girona, Spain, and the University of Burgundy, France, with distinction. Dr. Anwar has a strong teaching experience in many reputed universities and a substantial industry presence, accumulating 14 years of experience. He has 45+ publications in top-tier conferences and journals, including one best paper nomination in CVPR and a best paper honorable mention in Pattern Recognition (PR). He leads commercial and research-funded projects with a combined worth of a few million dollars. He has supervised 10+ Ph.D., 15+ M.S., and 6+ B.S. students. He is interested in deep learning, computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, low-level vision and artificial intelligence.
His research interest includes Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Low-level vision and Artificial Intelligence.
