Two of our student teams have secured the first and second places in the prestigious Gulf Programming Competition, which took place on November 3, 2023 in Oman and brought together 63 teams from 5 different countries, making the competition intense and challenging. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and outstanding skills of our students.
We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the members of these two victorious teams and to express our gratitude to the faculty members who mentored and supported these teams, as well as the organizers of the Gulf Programming Competition for providing such a competitive and enriching platform for our students.

Our CS student (Ahmed Alshammari) won 1st prize (including prize money SAR 30,000) in CTF organized by Cyberhub (https://twitter.com/CyberhubSa). It was a solo competition held on 1st Oct. The Number of participants of the last competition were 618 students all over Saudi's Universities.
The KFUPM Team won 4th and 8th place among 55 participated teams in the GPC at Muscat, Oman.
ICS teams won the first and second places in the Takaful Senior Design Project Contest at the College of Computer Science and Engineering.
Three teams from the ICS Department, KFUPM participated in the 8th Gulf Programming Contest that was held in Dubai–UAE in the period of March 20-21, 2017. The contest was hosted by Zayed University College of Technological Innovation (CTI). 45 teams from different gulf universities participated in this event. The top 10 achievers were honored by Prof Al Mehaideb during a special ceremony held in the presence of Dr Andrew Marrington, Acting Dean, College of Technological Innovation and Dr Mohamed Abdullah Hussein, Head of Judging Panel. Our students achieved the 2nd, 5th, and 9th positions in this contest. The event was sponsored by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), based in the USA. Under the honorary chairmanship of Dr Issa Al Bastaki, President of Dubai University.
Forty student teams (including 119 students) from computer colleges of different universities competed at the Conference, which was held from 22 to 23 February 2017, at the University of Ha’il. The contest lasted 4 hours, where KFUPM’s two teams scored first and second places, while all the other universities compete for third place.
Two student teams won the first and second place in the national programming contest among the students of computer and information colleges in the Kingdom. The competition was held during the 1st National Computing Colleges Conference which was held from 17 to 18 February 2016, at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
